Prayer Meeting - 19 Sep 08

We had a time of sharing and praying on the burdens & issues that God has impressed upon us last night. Abby, Jolyn & Yvonne, could u email us what you may have shared in your groups last night so we can also pray with u? Thanks!

For those who didn't get to share with us last night can also ask God to show u any burdens & issues that He might want u to pray about & u can share them with us too.

- Europe trip from 22 Sep to 13 Oct with Chris & Chris' friend

- Europe trip from 22 Sep to 13 Oct with Abby & Chris' friend
- pray for peace & wisdom when handling issues & for safety for them during the trip

(Dalton)
- his friends are currently too busy to talk to him

(Denise)
- pray for her Christian & non-Christian friends in law school:
- for the Christians to have the heart for God and seek Him for the salvation of non-Christian friends around them
- her exam papers are due on 23 Sep, 4th & 6th Oct, and one paper in school on 8 Oct
- pray for her papers/studies, for focus, understanding, wisdom and strength!
- she is stressed because she needs to do well to keep her scholarship but her first assignment got a bad grade -> pray for peace
- pray for obedience and to challenge herself to be a true disciple
- pray that she will really encounter God in her QTs and discipline in her own prayer life + in setting up prayer grps in sch
- pray for Sam to be transformed by God's Word, and to completely fall in love with Jesus!
- pray for them too that they'll obey God even if it means they have to separate

- thank God for recent purchase of wedding bands, a more affordable honeymoon package & efficient wedding planners
- pray for him as he speaks at the YM comm retreat today & at WSCS (30 Sept)
- pray for him to be more gentle with others as he tends to snap very fast when he is tired (has been tired since April)

- was reading on a book called "The Assault of Reason" which talked about how one man's fallacies can change the world e.g. wars, economic turmoil
- pray for upcoming US elections
- his non-Christian friends in camp know who Jesus is but are not interested to know Him personally -> hard to reach out- his camp friends who profess Christ but don't live out their faith

- pray for Kelly as she speaks on the end-times to his aunt's sg retreat on 26 Sep (his aunt's sg members are not deep in knowledge)
- pray for his friend, Daniel Leong, who has a 2nd relapse of bone cancer, that he will not be angry

(Joel Lam)
- pray that he may be able to catch up on his studies next week as he will be having his term break

(Joel Lau)
- pray for his heart which he finds is very hard, been struggling with things in his life, not very happy with it but doesn't feel he wants to change it either
- pray that he may know how to respond in an appropriate way to the current situation that churches are doing things, settling for mediocrity rather than living up to its calling

(Keng & Sarah)
- pray that she will learn how to juggle her time
- more commitments this year- one of her personal goals is to remain close to the Lord, and at the same time, focus on her new "family"
- pray that Keng and her will continue to grow closer to the Lord and to each other

(Lance & Elaine)
- pray that his relationship be good with colleagues (Shashi & Jean)
- pray for his faith & discipline
- pray for joy in everything she does

(Tengyu)
- pray for his non-believing family members (Mum & 2 brothers) & friends
- currently in his last semester which will end in Jan 2009 so he wants to share the gospel with his lunch clique, praying for opportunity to speak to each of them one on one (he is more comfortable with this)
- misunderstanding between him & a Christian brother

- pray that we as Christians will trust God & not the security of our earthly possessions in the wake of economic turmoil
- pray for unsaved relatives among our sg families cos we do not know how much time left we have with them to share the gospel

(Wanlin)
- pray for her school work which is piling & too much reading to do
- pray for Jingwen who is still in his room which is the report given when she asked about him
- pray for God's guidance so that she may live a life that pleases God

[Abby]
- pray for her as she decides on how to leave her company on pleasant terms (her boss told her that he is folding the company although it's making $ cos he wants to pursue his own interests, she feels let down as she did her best to bring in more jobs for the company)
- pray for her as she considers her next course of direction

[Chris]
- pray for more rest

[Gladwin]
- thanksgiving for his scholarship interview which went well & gaining of momentum in his wedding prep
- pray for his coming YM comm retreat prep- pray for his relationship with God & Rachel
- pray for his grandpa who has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and undergoing chemo
- pray for his uncle who has been accompanying his grandpa daily as he is worn-out from the daily trips but Grandpa doesn't want other relatives to accompany him

- pray for sound time management between school and CCA

- pray for patience with his job that he will be able to see more purpose in what he is doing

- pray that she will trust God and to surrender

- pray for Sarah as she is still waiting for her visa to be approved to return to the US
- pray for Keng as he flies back to US today at 4pm and as he starts his new job

- pray for wisdom to manage her time at work with the increasing workload
- pray for enough rest so that she won't be cranky

- thankgiving for end of 3rd semester
- pray for him as he leads his CCA ministry, WayFarers, as his more-experienced colleague is leaving by end of this year as her term with the school ends
- pray that he may be able to cope well with workload and going for sg

- pray for Jean's health as her fever keeps coming back intermittently
- pray for Shashi to experience growth in faith
- thanksgiving for their car
- pray that they will trust God for providence and wisdom in managing finances as with the car, their expenses are likely to exceed their income

- pray that after his YFC camp he will be able to emerge a stronger Christian with a closer walk with God

- thanksgiving for God's providence in opening a suitable marriage prep course from ETW ministry
- pray that she will guard her time with God despite the workload

- pray for her friend Jingwen as he struggles with his purpose in life and their breakup
